Soling 50 Race Requirements
As a recognized one-design class by AMYA, all Soling 50s to be raced in any local club, regional or national events, must comply with the Soling 50 Class Rules as published on the AMYA website. In addition, all skippers must be a member of the Bakersfield Model Yacht Club ($25.00 per year).
All skippers entered in AMYA-sanctioned regional or national regattas must be a member of the American Model Yachting Association (AMYA). http://www.theamya.org/
All new Soling 50s must be registered ($7.00) in the skipper’s name with a permanent sail number if the boat is to be raced in any local club, regional or national events. Transfers of ownership must also be re-registered ($7.00) in the new skipper’s name. Sail numbers are issued by the AMYA Soling 50 Class Secretary, Greg Dawe. Contact him by email to: gdawe@ucsd.edu.
All Soling 50 Class model yachts entered to race in any AMYA sanctioned event, must have a Measurement Certificate on file with the hosting club. These Certificates may be filled out by the owner of the yacht and verified by another registered Soling 50 Class boat owner, who also is a current member of AMYA.
