Basic Racing Rules for R/C Sailing
- Port tack keeps clear of starboard tack.
- Windward boat keeps clear of leeward boat.
- Boat astern keeps clear of boat ahead.
- Boat tacking or jibing keeps clear.
- When changing course - give others time to keep clear. Avoid collisions at all costs.
- When rounding mark - give room to all inside boats.
- Give room to any boat avoiding an obstruction.
- At the start - do not barge or cut in front of a boat on Starboard Tack.
- Do not hit any marks during the race.
- If you violated any of the above rules - take a 360º penalty ASAP turn before the end of the race.
- If you go over the starting line early, you must keep clear of others and re-start the race by “dipping” below the starting line.
