Welcome to the Bakersfield Model Yacht Club website. The BMYC is the only "Yacht Club" in Bakersfield, California.
We were chartered by the national organization of AMYA (American Model Yachting Association) as club #126 in Region 6 of the United States in 2002.
We are devoted to promoting R/C (Radio Controlled) model yacht design, building, sailing, racing and preservation of model sailing activities in our area.
We currently sail three (3) different AMYA sanctioned classes of model yachts...Victorias, Soling 50s and the "open" class called the Footy.
Most of our regattas are held the first and third Saturdays of each month throughout the year at either the Park at Riverwalk, Riverlakes or Lake Ming.
Check our schedules and venues for details and maps. Our most important interest is "having fun" sailing and sharing our hobby with others in the greater Bakersfield area.
